The Best RPGs for Xbox 360

Believe it or not, video games are really addicting, if you play them enough, they’ll be sure to get their grip on you. The storyline, sometimes the characters, sometimes the challenges and skills required make us want to come back for more. These are what video games developers continuously expand to keep gamers interested and loyal to the game play. Match these games up with the coolest video game console, the Xbox 360, and gamers will definitely get hooked. At least I did! Although there are several game categories Xbox 360 users can choose from, me and my pals spend long hours playing RPGs more than other categories.

RPG stands for role-playing game. Yes, you heard that right. RPG games allow gamers to assume and portray the roles of fictional characters in a video game. Participants have the option to play as a single player or multi-player, but either way they need to strategize as the main characters to succeed and finish the challenges defined in the interactive storyline under the guidelines of a formal system of rules of the game.

RPGs became popular in the world of video gaming because of the early instant success of the pioneering RPG, Dungeons & Dragons in 1974. See how long RPGs have existed? But what links its history to the present is the incessant use of fantasy and other fictional settings of the game. Portraying your own favorite fictional character from your favorite fantasy show always tops the reasons why boys and men love our RPGs. I personally recommend RPGs for a boys’ night out because it always ends up fun and chaotic, in a positive way.

For those who haven’t played RPGs before, I don’t want to disappoint you or spoil the fun for you, so I’d like to share with you the best RPGs for Xbox 360 that have made it onto my own self-declared “The Best RPG List”.

On top of the list is the Mass Effect Trilogy. The latest is the Mass Effect 3 that sets participants in the unfamiliar world of our galaxy and the planet Mars. Previous characters who were not deemed killed from Mass Effect 1 and 2 will join in for this more interesting interplay. This action-packed RPG is published by Electronic Arts. No one, in my own experience gets disappointed from Electronic Arts’ games. It’s Electronic Arts after all!

Next on my list is the Fallout Series, but I highly recommend the latest version, Fallout: New Vegas – Lonesome Road. The setting — a post-apocalyptic environment in and around Las Vegas. I spoil it by giving you the storyline of these games as I want to give you the opportunity to explore them all for yourself, but take my words. These 2 RPG games are The Best!
